5 Simple Home Accent Ideas to Improve Your Space
Hello, what is up everybody! Welcome to my first blog post. If you are new here, my name is Sabina and I run an e-design business where I help people like yourself improve their spaces, all online! Yes… the days of only relying on an expensive full service local interior designer is over. Now you have options and I am here to assist you in any way I can.
I thought to start this blog off on the right foot I would provide some tips on how you can update your space easily as well affordably!
Do you feel that your space needs an upgrade but don’t know where to start? Keep reading and I would love to help you get there. These 5 ideas will have your space looking spruced up in no time.
1. Update or Add New Throw Pillows
Does your couch currently have 1 or 2 sad looking frumpy pillows on it? The living room or grand room in your home is usually the place where families or roommates congregate the most. So, it’s important that this room is done right and is looking both fresh and comfy!
To some, having the perfect pillow arrangement on their couch can be a daunting task, the assembly can be a little overwhelming and you question if it looks right. For a couch you will want to have 2 base pillows to go on each corner, followed by 2 medium pillows, and then 1-2 interest pillows in the middle. Below is an example of a pillow arrangement that look fabulous together so that you just focus on waiting for them to be delivered!
2. Change your Faucet/Cabinet Hardware
I want you to relate hardware to the perfect necklace complimenting a gorgeous dress. How much does it improve the overall look of the outfit? Well, by a lot! This super easy and quick update ranks at the top of this list because when it’s changed out, the entire appearance of your kitchen or bathroom can be transformed! Check out these pieces below varying from nickel, chrome, brass, gold and black.
3. Put Up Some Floating Shelves
Are your walls a bit barren? By putting up some floating shelves with items that you love and cherish as well as some beautiful plants, your wall is now alive! If you’re like me and love accessories, but don’t want to overcrowd your bookshelf or coffee table, having a floating shelf is a perfect option for you. Whether that be wood or wire, a floating shelf can help in improving the overall look of your space.
4. Hang a Painting or Framed Poster
Speaking of hanging things up on all the walls… putting a painting or framed poster on the wall can elevate your space even easier than a floating shelf. For those of you who prefer a cleaner look on the walls and don’t want décor objects on there, this is a great choice for you! In one easy step, you have a beautiful furnished wall.
5. Get a Basket for your Blankets
I get it, this tip might confuse some people. But hear me out. Not only will baskets improve the overall look of your space because they are super stylish, but they will also act as a holder for your blankets that may be currently being strewn across the couch and the beautiful throw pillows you just spent time neatly arranging! A basket has a great 2 in 1 benefit package, a chic look combined with a way of keeping your living room a little bit more organized.
