Incorporating the California Casual Style in your Home
As an interior decorator, I’ve always been drawn to natural elements in the home such as woods, stone, cement, jute, and of course plants.
That’s why when the style California Casual was “named” I felt like I finally found a style that I naturally gravitated to the most.
California Casual incorporates both neutral and soft tones on the walls and furniture, with lots of different types of texture and coziness in the form of shags, rugs and soft blankets.
There are many ways to incorporate this style in your home with other décor styles such as mid-century modern, bohemian or Moroccan, you name it!
That’s what I love about interior decorating, you don’t have to be stuck on only one style.
Unless you want that, which is totally fine too!
One of the concept boards I created below for a client incorporates the earth elements of California Casual with hints of sophistication and glam. The 3-piece nesting brass patina coffee table and black accent tables give this space a type of bolder depth and complexity while still incorporating a natural wrap jute chair to tie in the space, making this room its own beautiful unique style of its own.
