Splurge or Save - Neutral Slipcover Chairs

Today I’m sharing my first Splurge or Save Blog post with you. I have a dining chair combo and an accent chair combo, both in neutral oatmeal colours. Both of the Save options are from World Market, one of my favourite retail stores to source from. If you want to check out more of my favourites, I have a blog post on that too.

A tip with using slipcover furniture in your home is creating balance. In order to keep your room from feeling too heavy with these larger chairs, mix in furniture that you can see the legs of the piece. Take this suggestion however way you want! For example, you can mix dining table chairs with the two head chairs being slipcovered and the rest in a woven leather pattern. Or you can opt for one sofa being slipcovered while the other one not. Mix in whichever way you desire! This tip is also depending on the size of your space you are furnishing. If you have a larger square footage, you may be able to use only larger furniture pieces without the room feeling weighed down. However if you’re working with a smaller square footage, this is a great tip to be mindful of!
